Max Morton was born in 1943 in Liverpool. At the age of two he moved with his parents to Latin America (Chili, Peru, Argentina) where he lived during his childhood. At a very young age he started to show interest in paintings. He started painting when he was nine years old. "As a child I got a major operation. I made the doctor a painting. I painted him a very colorful rooster and that's what started me off." Later in his life he started making more expressive paintings.

May '68 in Paris was the inspiration for his first exposition (1973) in this city. Later he had expositions in France, in Morocco, in Spain, in Australia and in Belgium.
